SPONSOR-A-PET with Caring Friends Cat Rescue
We are an all-volunteer rescue whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving safe permanent homes for all of the cats we take in. Some of the cats we take in end up with long term or extraordinary medical or behavioral expenses that go beyond and are not covered by our normal adoption fee. We keep these cats in our foster care and will always continue to care for them. To do this we need the help of donations and sponsors. Below is a list these cats that have special sponsorship opportunities. We greatly appreciate any and all sponsors!
Please meet Winnie, a beautiful girl looking for a new home. Winnie was a new addition at one of our feral feeding stations last spring. She was there for a few months before it was determined she was a 'friendly'. She was immediately removed and fearing she was lost we searched for her family. It seems she was dumped by her owners who no longer wanted to care for her. Routine medical tests were done and Winnie was diagnosed with diabetes. Her health is good and she receives two insulin injections daily. She's so good about getting the injections it's obvious she had been getting them before she was rescued. Winnie is a large cat and very sweet, she is estimated to be between 12 and 14 years old. She would do best in a single cat home where she can be the queen of the house! She loves to play and especially loves string toys. She is on a special diet and will required insulin injections. Please consider Winnie as she is a very special cat who needs a very special new home.
Noodle is a female Red Tabby born 4/6/2012. She is very petite weighing in at only 5pds at 1.5 years. Noodle is a very unique girl who loves nothing more than to be curled in your lap soaking up all the attention she can get. She has a very special way about her, a calmness about her that is unusual. Noodle love, love loves to have her tummy rubbed. She is a quiet, gentle companion. Noodle has always reminded us of a therapy cat. She is very gentle and needs a home with someone who has the time to give her the attention that she craves. Noodle is available for adoption, she would get along fine with a single person or a couple that is often home. She also could live with kids that are not too young. She isn't one for quick movement or loud noise generally associated with younger children. She would not be well suited in an home where she is left alone for long periods of time.
Skylar is a strikingly beautiful 12 year old calico. She was dumped by her owners at the Carson Shelter August 30th and we pulled her in the beginning of October 2012. She is a very affectionate girl that loves to lounge on the couch all day. She also has a playful side and when she decides it is play time she has as much energy as a kitten. She chases her mouse around the living room and rolls around on the floor. She is missing a majority of her teeth. Skylar is looking for her forever home with someone who will cuddle with her on the couch. Will you be her cuddle buddy?
Chester was born on 11/23/2013 and is a domestic shorthair orange and white tabby who is FIV+. He came to the Downey Shelter recovering from a feral cat attack that left him FIV positive. He is a sweet, young boy who with an indoor lifestyle and a healthy diet will probably live a long, normal, healthy life. He is a very quiet, mellow boy who gets along well with other cats. Here is some information on FIV http://bestfriends.org/feline-immunodeficiency-virus.aspx.
